I have a friend who is just finishing chemo prior to an operation, then possibly radiotherapy. She wants to learn if there is anything that she can do for her diet- anything in particular. She read somewhere that the chemo kills lots of your stomach baceria - is this true and if it is, is there something that one can do to rebuild them through diet. Many thanks indeed for any thoughts.

I have just completed my treatment, chemo, surgery and radio. Water is the best drink. Please drink lots of water to get the toxins out of your system. Protein diet with with calcium intake increased will help to reduce the weakness and tiredness. Most important faith in HIM and your Oncologists and a positive attitude helps to cross the hurdle. Behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining so keep looking at the silver lining. Things are easier said than done but it is a hurdle which has to be crossed. Take care and keep posting. All the best to your friend.
