If you supply the following data I may be able to explain why there is no surgery proposed (and Vinorelbine is typically offered to advanced breast cancers - that suggests it is too advanced for surgery).
* Age
* Menopausal status
* Are there metastases identified elsewhere?
* Size of the tumor?
- and is it infiltrating other parts like the skin or the bone?
* If there are no metastases, how many (if any) of the lymph nodes have been affected?
* Which receptors are positive? ER, PR, HER2 (all three are either positive or negative)
I may have follow-up questions when you supply answers to these above.
If you supply the height and weight I can help you calculate the STANDARD dose of Vinorelbine. (Which the doctor must have done as step one; then (s)he might consider other factors to amend the standard dose.
Vinorelbine can be given D1 , D8 (every 21 day cycle)
or
Vinorelbine can also be given D1, D8 , D15 ( every 28 day cycle)
Your friends Medical Oncologist would have surely explained at depth about these things.
If there is confusion, or she would nt have understood something, please ask your friend to Re-consult her Medical Oncologist and perhaps accompany her.
