Delay in next dose of Chemotherapy

How long next dose of chemotherapy can be delayed in 3 weeks regime with the dosage of Herceptin,Carboplatin and Paclitaxel?

Ideally, no one would want a delay. But for some reason or circumstances like infection, fever or such, we have no choice but to delay the chemo and that's fine enough.

Why has there been a delay for 10-15 days dealy is.. worth discussing...

The doctors job is to ensure that when chemo is prescribed its safe for the patient. Did u r doctor not give chemo coz of that...

Did u not receive chemo if the doctor was away

Or was it you who decided to take that break.

Please justify what was the reason...

Debroy, I second all that what Dr. Rohit has said. These decisions are extremely delicate and one needs to understand why the delay and all. Since we are not your doctors, the best would be for you to sit with your Medical Oncologist and sort it out.

Thanks for your replies Sir and sorry for the delayed reply.Actually my mother got her last chemo on 24th Sep and after that her platelet which was already on lower side dropped to 20000 count, HB too dropped to 7.6. Then she suffered from UTI which made her hospitalised for more than 10 days and now she's back home but very weak.Also her platelet level was not more than 1 lakh during discharge.Her dose is supposed to be on 15th but it seems it might get delayed due to her health issue.That's the reason I want to know how long it can be delayed.Also our big festival(Durga Puja) is from 18th and I dont want her to be in hospital during this festival.I've gone thru few articles where people have shared that sometimes treatment gets delayed due to other health issues.

Earlier during her every week regime due to pneumonia and UTI her treatment was delayed.
