Breast cancer - mom

My mother has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer - Invasive Carcinoma after the lump was sent for biopsy. Currently consulting Kidwai Hospital Bangalore. The doctors have suggested to undergo surgery post which the next steps of treatment will be suggested.

Hi welcome to our forum - very sorry to hear about your Mom. The standard treatment includes surgery, chemo, radiation & hormone therapy.

sorry to hear about your om.i took treatment from dr vijaykumar who was director in kidwai in 2014.now he s not the director.he has consultation in abhay hospital.i was operated by him in abhay hospital. from my experience he is the best doctor.all the best for your moms treatment.if you want any information,free to ask me. take care.

Thanks for your replies. My mom is emotionally a wreck. We are making her strong and preparing her. She might undergo breast removal. How painful is the surgery? and also what might be the duration of chemo? Doc says this looks to be stage 1 or beginning of stage 2. Some tests are to be done to confirm on it. Bone scanning, Ultra sound scanning and so on. Is it safe to say 6 months - 9 months for the complete treatment? I am also planning to take her to some ayurvedic center once the treatment is complete to relax her body and mind. I am really worried? Is this life threatening? AFAIK it is not but checking once again

Sorry to learn about this Just be strong the treatment is fairly a standard only find an experienced oncologist and have faith in him

Pl don't worry - now a days the treatment is very advanced - and your mom is in a very initially stage. Take the advice of your ONCOLOGIST & not GENERAL SURGEON.

The standard treatment will be surgery followed by chemos and if reqd radiation. There are ups and downs during the treatment but everything is managed by the doctors
