Had my appointment with my oncologist today, start chemotherapy next Wednesday, the one they’ve said is Docetaxel (taxotere) 1 every 3 weeks for 18 weeks, 6 cycles, then 15 sessions of radiotherapy and possibility tramoxifen, depending on my hormones levels (had a hysterectomy 5 years ago, still have overies)

I’ve also been referred for gene testing as my dads sister and dads mum both had breast cancer before the age of 50.

The margins were very small 3% with/without chemo but I want to give myself the best chance possible and if it did come back I would regret not having it.

We are still going ahead with our wedding (9th August)

Just after any advice on how to cope with it all

Best of luck to you. ❤️ Keeping your mind sound is key I think. I’ve found a good way to do this . Private message me for a chat if you like. Always happy to talk.

Did they warn you about hair loss? The taxeteres do that apparently - hence why I avoided this time. Lost my hair back in 2004 first time round.

Thinking of you Fxx

Take it one day at a time x I had 6 rounds of chemo once every three weeks. First three were FEC which is when I lost my hair the next three were Docetaxol which actually made my hair start to grow again x glad to hear you are going ahead with your wedding as I think having something to look forward to and feeling positive is a great way to get through this tough time x

best wishes & I hope everything goes well xx

Wishing you all the best Tricia, l had 3FEC followed by Docetaxel but it was the FEC that made my hair fall out, so fingers crossed the Docetaxel doesn’t have that effect. I’m so glad you’re going ahead with your Wedding, why should Cancer steal away our plans!

Keep in touch & All The Best 🍀 with your Chemo.

Best of Luck!

It's all so horribly scarry at first and strangely it becomes normal. I know it doesn't seem it, but when you start... the worse is over that's if your a worrier like me. It's the unknown that's the scariest. Now that you know what your facing, I pray you have a bit of peace and cope with the treatment well.

Radiotherapy was worse for me, because it made me so very tired. But I did work straight through everything.

God Bless

Its a long road but you will get through this. Don't expect too much of yourself, treat yourself kindly with lots of moisturiser and take the tablets they offer to stop nausea etc. Keep away from colds etc and don't hesitate to call the hospital if you are feeling unwell. Before you know it, it will all be a distant memory. Good luck.xxx
