Good luck tomorrow. I certainly wasn’t advised or needed to take calcium but make sure you are well hydrated

what did you do before your last infusion, did you take extra calcium then? I know you drink soya milk I think so maybe just have a big glass of that in the morning to give you the extra boost of calcium and vit D.

Good luck I hope it goes well, I found my second infusion much better side effects wise than the first. Let us know how it goes and take care xx

thanks ,I have ordered 500mg of calcium citrate, 3 capsules a day =500mg, I will just take 1 or 2 capsules a day, can't go on measuring calcium from food, that's all I will be doing all day measuring this and that.

Well hopefully that will help you I don’t bother to measure it from food I just rely on drinking my litre of almond milk as that’s 150% so that saves me taking pills that only end up upsetting my guts.

Maybe try just the one to start with as you will still be getting a fair amount from food xx

Did you not have a blood test to ascertain your levels for calcium, kidneys and Vit D etc? Understood they had to be at a certain level for you to have the infusion. Have you tried Lamberts Osteoguard Advance. They don't make me constipated - quite expensive but much better that taking those awful calci chew things which do screw up the stomach. I take 2 a day and continue to do so after my first infusion back in March this year.

”yes you do” … meaning what? Take calcium on the day of the infusion, which is what the original poster (Radars) seemed to be asking.. Perhaps you could clarify this comment. 🤔

Yes you do and you need to have certain blood tests before to check all ok to go ahead with infusion. Zolendronic acid can cause a drop in calcium which can be dangerous.

I had a chat with my consultant yesterday. He is taking me off Teraparamide after 30 months. He has sent me a form for a blood test next week and I go to the clinic at the end of June for my First 6 monthly injection of Zolondrate. Nothing has been said other that I must continue to take Vitamin D 800-1000iu and the Terapramide until told to stop.

do you mean take calcium on the day you are having the infusion ?

I have had one Zol infusion and was advised by the hospital to drink plenty of water on the day.

Was not told to take calcium on the day of the infusion (and no mention of drinking a large glass of soya milk as one poster has suggested!)
