Recently I was prescribed teriparatide injections by Terrosa pen stored in fridge. I need to buy a travel fridge designed for diabetics for my forthcoming stay in a hotel room without a fridge. Any recommendations?

Teriparatide injections
Hi Cercis. I was on Teriparatide for 2 years. When due to go on hols, specialist advised missing a week and leave it at home as won’t make lot of difference to overall outcome of treatment. Are you away for long time? Have you started injections? If not might be better to delay start till home again?
Maybe ask the hotel if they can provide one first. Sometimes they will provide them.
let us know how you go with the teriparatide, thanks
I have been on Teriparatide for 6 months and I'm fine on it so far. Was terrified at first of side effects but I'm fine othing I can't handle.
Back in 2018, when I was on Forteo/teriparatide, I bought a AIJUN Insulin Cooler Travel Box off of Amazon for about $100-$125. It has a car charger so you can keep it charged while driving to your destination. If you're not driving, the battery lasts about 8 hours. It also has an AC adaptor so you can plug into the wall. It worked pretty well. (There may be other options on Amazon now.) If you use a fridge provided by a hotel/cruise line make sure to bring a thermometer to test the temperature of the fridge they provide as sometimes the temperature does not get as cold as you need it to be. In addition, I strongly advise against using the insulin packs where you freeze the cold pack insert - these only stay cold for about 4 hours and the temperature also increases more easily based on the temperature of the surrounding (ambient) air.
PS: the travel box I bought only holds one pen, so hopefully you are not going on vacation when you would have to change pens in the middle of your vacation.
Hello,i have taken teriparitide daily since may 2022. We travel and phone ahead to hotel in different parts of Europe prior to trip. we just say we require fridge in room working between 2-8 * I take thermometor also and always not a problem. At least 12 hours prior to leaving,i take cool bag to reception andshow how 6 gel packs need to be frozen individually and flat so that i can slide them in place. I get deliveries from Lloyds pharmacy u.k. and find gel packs leak occasionally and im on my 3rd cool travel bag now.Never been asked for travel consent letter at airports and security staff seem used to seeing this cool bag. Only first time travelling post pandemic with Celebrity cruise was it a problem. i had no thermemetor and i dont feel it was a proper fridge and hence too warm. good travelling.
