Any difference in gains taking forteo at night instead of morning

Has anyone made gains taking forteo at night instead of morning? I read an article which says that you only make half the gains taking it at night instead of the morning. I am getting really bad insomnia and wondering if changing it to the night instead of the morning will make a difference.

Or if anyone had insomnia that went away after a while.

HiI was on forteo for 18 months and I injected at night

I finished in may this year I had a dexa scan in March

I also have 5 fractures in my spine which I had kyphoplasty on them all

My rheumatologist appointment was in October this year phone call one

He was pleased to tell me I am now in osteopenia

Try a stick with forteo if you can

Wishing you good luck

Thats great to get to osteopenia from there. I have been on forteo for 4 x months started at 3.6 spine so heres hoping. I have 3 x fractures in spine that I know for definite. Did you do anything else? Any supplements or exercise? I cant exercise, I have arthritis in hips and sacro iliac joints which seem to be painful at the moment as well, so I am stuck in the chair most of the time.

HiI try and walk for a hour each day with the dog

I was told to be careful of exercise because of my fractures

I also take adcal d3 these were prescribed by the rheumatologist once I started forteo injections

I have been told to carry on taking them

Try and stick with forteo injections I was petrified about taking them after I read up on them

but I hardly had any side effect a bit of pain in my foot to start with

Try and stay positive I know it’s hard but forteo might be the best thing for you

Hi, one last question, are you taking anything to hold onto the gains made by forteo?

Hi they wanted me to start prolia injections every 6 months but that’s one medication I am not prepared to takeI am starting on Alendronate a weekly pill

I have to have some control over my body if I have side effects I can stop

but the infusion ones you have no control over

Prolia always has been a no way for me

I have fractures already but with prolia I believe if your late getting your injection or have any side effect you can’t just stop it as you can fracture even more

With forteo I had some control over it I did miss two injections in my 18 months but that was my choice as I had upset tummy and felt terrible so I wasnt prepared to put anything else in my body at that time

Most people seem to have forteo for 2 years but my rheumatologist feels that 18 months was enough for me

I do hope it helps you I know how painful fractures can be let alone other complications you might have

I am not sure how old you are but I am 67

I wasnt sure about kyphoplasty on my fractures but I am glad I did go ahead

At the moment I haven’t lost any height I did put weight on around my tummy area with forteo

but also I guess some people could say it’s my age

As I already said if you can manage to stay on forteo and your ok then hopefully it will help you also

X

Hi, I am on Forsteo (UK marketed name) and was told by the nurse to inject at night, I do mine at 8pm. Could you tell me where I might find this article or provide a link? I'm eager to improve my bone density as much as possible.

Had to find it again, hope this link opens.

Thank you for the link. I wonder if it's because we are generally active in the day as opposed to at night, although taking it every day should mean it's always in our system doing its 'work.' I think I'll call the ROS nurse in the week and see what they say.
