Has anyone been on forteo every second day and made good gains?

Hi again, do you mean you aren't injecting daily? I'm in the UK on Forsteo too, and injecting daily. As I understand it, the pens last for 28 days and should be discarded after that time because it's a biological medication but perhaps Forteo is administered differently?

I had to many side effects daily so have been doing it every second day hoping to get onto daily. But an expert endocronologist that used to come on this board says its OK to do every second day, yes, I believe the pens have to be thrown every 28 days.

I'm sorry to hear you've experienced so many side effects. I had some nausea for the first week. I suffer from fatigue due tp fibromyalgia and have horrible pain from recent spinal fractures so it's hard to know if some of that is down to the treatment but I'm hoping to manage the whole 24 months; 2 down, 22 to go...

I have 3 x spinal fractures I know of and I think some of the pain in my back is the forteo doing its work (I hope). I had the nausea at the beginning, that has gone, I eat before the injection, I think that helps. I get a lightheaded after the injection as well, but I know that will pass The insomnia I am finding difficult.I can understand about the Fibromyalgia as I have suffered with M.E for 30 years.

I also have Vestibular Migraine which gives me some sort of a bad head and dizziness on a daily basis.

I have just completed 4 x months (but only every second day) so at a similar place to you.

I have 3 spinal fractures too, the pain is awful. My first fracture was in July 2019 and I was left with permanent pain in my back when using my arms to do most things. The other recent fractures are even worse. How far into the treatment did you start having insomnia?

Sorry to hear of your pain. Two of my fractures are in the lumbar spine, they were the worse. I also have one at the top (cant remember if its T11 or T12 but that one eased off after a year. The insomnia started about 3 x months into treatment with Forteo.

My fractures are T8, T9 and T11. By far the most painful were the two higher up and continue to cause quite severe pain when I use my arms.

I have experienced sleeping problems several nights a week since before I started administering Forsteo so I hope it doesn't get worse. Do you have insomnia every night and are you injecting in the morning?

Hi, I have always experienced sleep problems as well, before taking Forteo, but Forteo had definitely made it worse, have just proved it. I was getting only 3 hours most nights and sometimes only 2. I stopped the Vitamin D and calcium supplementand slept a tiny bit better, then, 4 days ago, I decided to give myself a break from the Forteo, and I have slept 6 and half hours the last two nights, much much better, so

its the Forteo, now I am going to rest more and see if I can take away some of the hip, sacroiliac etc. pain to see if the Forteo has caused this. I dont want to stop for longer than a week or two or I will never get on it again!

I was injecting in the morning.

That's very interesting. I have recently started having pain in hip and sacroiliac region too. I wondered if it was the treatment or whether I'd had another fracture. I don't think it's the latter as I don't always have the pain. If I make good gains on this treatment I'll put up with it, but it will be nearly 2 years before I know how much it's helped. I may ask for a scan within a year I think.

I used Forteo for 2 yrs and made significant gains in my bone density. I do get annual DEXA scans, which helps to know if a med is working.

Why are you struggling with every day?

Mostly insomnia but fatigue and sweats too, bit dizzy. Last year I had to stop after 6 x weeks with migraines and dizziness, I dont want to go there again.
