BP Meds causing bladder problems?

Hello. Recently I have had my blood pressure readings increased, not certain why, but maybe due to medications. I was taking candesartan 16mgs for a couple of years, then the doctor added plendil. I had a really bad episode where I had to be taken to A & E with BP 250/115 where the room was spinning and I vomited. The doctors did an ECG which seemed OK but changed my meds to Losartan potassium 50mgs + hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mgs with split dose of Plendil 5mgs, once am and once pm. I seemed to have my BP come down better than it was, but still spiked quite often. Recently I saw a renal doctor at the clinic and good news, my heart and organs are OK. He was concerned that my 24 ambulatory BP showed activity that suggested I have Latent Hypertension. He increased Plendil 10mgs but to be taken at night and added another drug, a diuretic, called Hygroton 25mgs which I haven't had before to be taken with the am dose of BP meds. Now, I've only taken one dose of Hygroton, and already I noticed it interfered with my bladder function. The other tabs mentioned, I have been on long enough to know whether I have had any side effects. I suspect the Hygroton gave me symptoms of bladder retention. What I would like to know, is this, anyone else out there have similar problems to me and whether anyone thinks that some blood pressure meds cause problems with bladder function? I would really like to know this.I have had bladder problems since I have been on BP medication and having had a hysterectomy 20 years ago.

I'm not on the same drugs as you, but as the number of tablets and dosage increases, my bladder has become very problematic. My GP denies it's the drugs that are causing it!!!

Thank you so much for your reply. You have confirmed what I have suspected all along. My medical practitioners also say unlikely, but I do wonder as I have been through all the criteria not to have a problematic bladder.
