does anyone have any positive experiences using Doxazosin?
I understand these are an alpha blocker and work differently on reducing BP than other types.
I’ve read that some people have concerns about using them since they may affect heart function long term or have problems getting used to them. Any experiences of pros and cons appreciated.

Hi Harrythmia . I was prescribed Doxazosin 2mg a year ago but stopped it after a couple of months as I was getting vertigo and thought it was the tablets. The vertigo stopped so it probably was. I've tried a few BP meds and I'm struggling to find an effective one with minimal side effects. I'm currently on lercanidipine.
That is interesting about the vertigo. 2mg pd is the lowest dose I think. I suppose all drugs have at least one side effect or another. It’s difficult to know how long to give for their side effects to wear off. Good luck with your quest to find the right ones. Harry
Hi Harry…..on Doxazosin for a good number of years……BP was not under control….so had to add Lecalpin to fix issue……no real side effects from Doxazosin……happy with a combo of Cardura, Lecalpin, Tritace and Bisop…..coupled with Asperin and 40 mlgs of statins……lot of meds but side effects seem to be from Lecalpin…… infrequent palpitations, dizzines……otherwise ok
