about the NHS buying Chinese biosimilar version, which they call « copycat » of Rituximab, Trastuzumab marketed as Herceptin, Bevacizumab marketed as Avastin.
So the chief pharmacist at the Royal Marsden is achieving savings etc..
I wish we were in the business of saving lives..

Hi Fran Biologics and biosimilars are also used for autoimmune diseases like Ra or Vasculitis. I have both and many others like me depend on biosimilars like Truxima (Rituximab) . As far as Vasculitis (and cancer) are concerned, they are life saving drugs. They have been passed by NICE, and save the NHS thousands of pounds.

We have Sirolimus for LAM, which I suffer from, it was a cancer drug in the first place..which is why I was interested in the article, and the outcome..
Methotrexate was also a cancer drug originally but is a DMARD and not a biologic. As far as I know, they haven't created a cheaper copy of it yet.
