there is someone on here who has bladder cancer and I’m sure they’ll be able to help you. A friend of mine had this about 20 years or so ago and recovered very well x

Hi - I have had several Bladder Cancer, biopsy's - Normally done with a Cystoscopy - It's a short procedure and no actual cutting bar the snips of tissue which is sent to the lab,

You normally would expect to be home sane day - But you can't drive for 24 hours so you will have to be picked up.

I am having a Bladder Cancer biopsy on February 14th

Thank you for this response. Did the biopsy find any thing?

I have Bladder Cancer in situ (CIS) in the past biopsies showed high grade, but the last one showed low grade, I was diagnosed in 2021 but actually I had Bladder Cancer since October 2020.

I am still here :-)

Hello,

I had my per-op appointments this morning, no problems. Now wait for my biopsy Friday morning.

" I had Bladder Cancer since October 2020." What pain or any other problems you do experience, any medication?

You have been very helpful. I will give an update Friday evening.

I have not had any pain - After three episodes of blood in urine, I got a flexy cystoscopy which confirmed cancer,

I has had no pain and no medication specific to cancer except three courses of BCG.

Your biopsy has no pain except stinging a little when you go to loo at the beginning, that soon wears off.

Wishing you well.

Hello,

I had my biopsy yesterday morning, the recovery father the operation was OK. Went to the hospital 0730 and came home 3 P M. A lot of burning sensation, was drinking a lot of water to keep the flow going.

Now wait for the histology result.

Thank you for all the helpful information.

Good luck with your check on 14 the Feb.

At the moment I am not to bad, picked up a bug - My Cystoscopy this time is the Flexy type. a luxury for me. I am wondering what it will show, it's just to see how the last BCG treatment has worked, I was hight grade cancer but the unexpected happened, turned to low grade. Good luck.

Thank you for valuable information. I have been reading about BCG treatment, in case I end up going for the BCG treatment.!

I appreciate we react different to medication, Can one have normal life with BCG treatment?

If you are wondering what it will show,? are you able to see the bladder in a monitor or a photograph?

Thank you for all your help.

Take care.

Yes bar the inconvenience, you can live a normal life with BCG - The frequency decreases with the year.

A Flexible Cystoscopy is far kinder than the rigid.

With the flexy it's over very soon and when I had one in 2021 I could see what was happening on a monitor - I saw the tumour and it was not as scary as I thought it would be.

Thank you.

Did you take a photo of what you saw on mirror?, Are you able to explain the tumor?

I was on my back, the doctor asked me if I can see the monitor, then asked me to turn and look what was there!

Well, I am waiting for the urology report now. I have a lot of understanding now to ask many questions on my next appointment.

All I am hoping for is to say do a soft Cystocospy in 12 months and live a near normal life.

Take care. looking forward to your checkup results on Feb 14.

No I did not take a photo.. I watched from the start as the monitor was facing me, It was a journey past my prostate and into my bladder. I spotted something dark on the , screen.

Later the doctor asked me what did I think the black part was, I knew, I just knew and said "cancer" which it was a small tumour that looked larges as it was magnified,

It's appearance was flat, seemed to be hugging my bladder wall - It was recent it seems and that made me feel better.

Diagnosis on follow up was "superficial none muscle invasive " That was good and I had a course of BCG- been a rocky ride but was a turn for the better this year, As from high Grade it went to low, the BCG did it's job. But am now waiting to see what they say on Valentines day of all days,

Any more questions don't hesitate.

You have been very helpful. I will ask if I have any more questions.

I have been looking for photos of what I saw on the monitor, the link below has a similar photo.

Different for me - I have CIS which means Cancer in Situ and is only found on the bladder lining, grade is important and I am lucky it shifter to low grade, It is a very flat tumour.

I will update you on the 14th and good luck..
