I have had symptoms of a UTI since 31st October. I had Nitrofuration twice at the start of all this and things started to settle until I had a bath. I was then given 7 days of trimethoprim- I felt no real difference with this. Dipstick tests never really show infection so 3 urines have been sent to lab since this started and I consistently have Red blood cells. I have had blood tests to check kidney function and they were all fine. I have been told to try Pivmecillinam- has anyone tried this anti biotic before? I have health anxiety and hate trying things I haven't tried before. I am also waiting for a phone call off the GP tomorrow and I think they'll send me for an ultrasound. But it's all so confusing, one doctor said this is not a UTI while the other one said it's a lingering uti and the Pivmecillinam should help clear it and another doctor mentioned interstitial cystitis.

As I said I have health anxiety and GAD so all of this is really worrying me. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Thanks I’m advance!

can only suggest dont take baths! shower instead if at all possible and use no perfumed or scented products. There are products with perfect ph levels for intimate areas.
