I've recently been told that I have a UV grade 3 prolapse and only found this out during have a coil fitted under general anaesthetic,I've been suffering with urinary urgency and problems since having surgery for Vulva cancer in 2019 and was put on solifienct but never saw the urogynaecologist because of covid I've since come off these tablets because of side effects they can cause with memory loss,
Since having the coil fitted 2 weeks ago I've been having more urinary accidents,my question is what should be happening now with regards to the prolapse, should I hear from the hospital or do I get in touch with the urogynaecologist or is it my own gynaecologist who should get in contact with me?

Hi minster30, I would get hold of the gynaecologist to see if they are following it up. If not get hold of a gynecologist that specializes in prolapse's. I've found you have to do the leg work if you want anything done. Dont know if it's the same where you live though. Hope you get some help soon
Thanks so much Taluh, funnily enough my gynae has the same name as you 🤣 and just had to double check it wasn't her. Thanks I'll get onto them tomorrow.
I went to the GP after discussing it with my surgeon before my lap. The GP has put me in touch with a physio and I have been having telephone appts. Going to see her in 6 weeks for a check up. The physio is helping although I didn’t really think it would. X
Hi Minster30,I too have a prolapse, I noticed it a couple of years ago after doctors mistake.
I was rushed into hospital with a ruptured kidney, cutting long story short, I was in hospital for 2 weeks, I also had to have 3 pints of blood transfused.
One morning after having tubes out, I noticed a bulge after peeing, I asked a nurse what she thought whereby I was asked "does it hurt?"
I said "no", & her reply was just to leave it as it wasn't too big, but if it began hanging down to tell the doctor, I told my surgeon who had operated on my kidney & was told it wasn't her department I needed Urology.
I left it & began finding I was becoming incontinent, the prolapse is still there, as is the incontenance,
I now have to wear pads every day & the pants version for bed at night, how lively, I heard horror stories about urological surgery that I'm scared stiff of going to anyone, especially after the mistake they made with my kidney.
Morning, thanks so much for replying to me so sorry about your kidney problems and I hope your feeling well now Funnily enough I've mentioned this to my GP before in the past as I've always said that I feel as though my vagina is falling out and I'm sure a few years ago she did say I had a slight prolapse but that was that nothing was done and now a grade 3 which is quite bad along the scale of things really,I've got a appointment with my gynaecology team on Thursday so they can discuss this further with me i don't like the thought that it can just drop out of me at any given time and psychologically it's messing with my head, since my surgery for Vulva cancer in 2019 I've had problems with urinary urgency and frequently having accidents so somethings obviously gone wrong and I also have Spina bifida Occulta which I think is playing it's part in it 💜💛💜
Hi how did your appt go? Any decision made on where to go next. Do they still use mesh for prolapse repair? It scares me so much but that’s where I am heading x
