Noise when I wee

Just wondered if any one else gets this, I am a female, elderly, when I wee sometimes I get a sound as though wind is coming out like a popping noise, just like to know what it is, urine is clear no blood, but I had a urine infection about 4 months ago.

I had something similar almost 3 years ago but there was a often a varying amount of blood coming from my back passage and you don't mention blood. As it's not normal to pass blood in this way, unless of course it's piles or anal fissures (I have both but wasn't suffering with either at that time), so I made an appointment to see my GP. He referred me for an urgent colonoscopy which revealed that I have ulcerative colitis.

I don’t have any blood in urine that I can see, but it’s mainly when I do a wee I get a strange wind like sound, it’s odd because I had a CT colonoscopy about 3/4 months ago, the next day I had a very bad urine infection, I was told it was due to the CT colonoscopy, the colonoscopy came back ok except for some diverticulum, I knew I had that as I had a colonoscopy a few years ago.

I don’t have any pain, just this noise sometimes when I wee, it’s not every time

Hi

I have just had a read about these symptoms, yes you get the same symptoms from ulcerative colitis, a noise when doing a wee like a popping noise as though you are releasing air.

Did you have to have anything done, and did you have a fistula.

I am speaking with my Doctor this afternoon so will see what he suggests it may be.

Hi Shadow

Other than the colonoscopy (which I previously mentioned) I had nothing done. As far as I'm aware there were no fistulas.

We’re you getting a popping noise like wind when you did a wee, that is what I have it’s as though after I have done a wee I get a funny noise it’s like air being released.

I got the noise the minute I sat on the toilet seat

Sometimes I get it at the start of the wee, and sometimes at the end.

I have spoken with my Doctor and he has arranged for a ultra sound, I have to phone tomorrow for the appointment, he said that is the starting point, but he is pretty certain it’s not a fistula, as it would have shown on the CT colonoscopy, also have to take a sample to surgery tomorrow.

I am just recovering from awful depression, so I could do without any worry.

Do you still get the popping sound or are you being treated for the ulcerative colitis, so it’s cured it.

I'm glad your GP is sending you for further tests.

No, I'm not 'popping' any more lol and yes, I have to take medication every day for my colitis.

I just wanted to message you to say that the noise I get is due to a prolapse, it is coming from my vagina, I am seeing a gynaecologist on Wed, to see what needs to be done, may just be a pessary.

I know prolapses aren't something to be happy about but you must be so relieved to know what it is and that it's not something more sinister.

Thank you, yes I am relieved to know what the cause is, and yes not a good thing to have but it can be treated, that’s the main thing.
