Feeling really low at the minute. Sorry this is a long one but just want to write it all down.

After Nstemi in March, I went back to work in April. Was feeling pretty good apart from a burning sensation in the chest area not quite every day. I am on the gold standard meds, apparently and the GP advised that my 3 months was up to and to stop clopidogrel on 14 June. Which I did. He increased my Lansoprozole to 1 morning and night and stopped rosuvastatin to see if that helped with the joint pains. He tested my bloods 4 weeks ago and they are all fine. However this week I seemed to be peeing quite a lot. I did a urine test at work and it showed blood at the top of the scale. I dropped a sample into GP which was actually pink. He has sent away for testing but given me 3 days worth of antibiotics. I am on aspirin 75mg, ramipril 1.25. Was 2.5 and reduced a while back as kidney amd muscle numbers were too high. Whatever that means. Bisopropol 5mg Isosorbide monititrate 25mg I am due to go on holiday on Friday morning on a cruise with hubby and 2 grandkids for 14 nights Both Dr amd consultant said it was fine. I felt really good for weeks now but after this week I am really worried about what ifs. I have had hashimotos thyroiditis for about 15 years and apart from the normal thyroiditis things. Never been ill. I changed Drs as it was difficult to get my bloods done 6 monthly as requested by Endocrinologist and they refused to teat my vitamin level. Cholesterol is a high with thyroid disease but I had no symptoms etc , and it seems since changing I had bloods done meds changed and given statins. My cholesterol was 7.5. Which it has been for years. 2 months after starting statins I went to hospital with chest pains the consultant said a bit of plaque had come off and this is what caused the heart attack. Or NStemi my ecg was fine my echocardiagram was no issues everything was normal. Only thing that showed on angioplasty was a slight build up on the something diagnol rest were fine. Consultant said years ago would have been classed as a mini heart attack. I could never take aspirin when i was younger and allergic to penicillin too but they gave it to me in hospital to see how it went as I was in shock I said ok. Anyway, i am beginning to wonder if this is causing the burning sensation or blood in urine. I just have in my mind if I hadn't gone and changed DRs would any of this happened? As my old GP said everything was fine. My only concern with them was they refused to check vitamins and could never get appointment was vitamin B12 Folate and Vit D which were all low and I was self medicating these to be optimal and my TSH needed to be between 0.2 and 2 it was 5 at old GP I feel good some days and not so good others. Maybe just overthinking everything and worrying about what could be going on inside. Google has a lot to answer for. !! 😖

Check side effects of ramipril for the cough . Also the list of side effects for your other meds . I’m on my 3rd statin , couldn’t get on with Artovastatin 80mg, put on 40mg of Pravastatin and now on 10mg Rosuvastatin which is agreeable.

Maybe your GP/pharmacist or a chat with the BHF nurses (online or phone call, they are superb) could be the next step to get professional advice 👍🏻❤️

My only comment is blood in urine can be serious, and should be checked out. It may or may not be connected to medication. I suggest you go back to your GP to talk things through. You should also consider any potential implications regarding your travel insurance cover.

Hi

Defo Ramopril for the cough! they are a cheap medication and known to cause a dry cough that won't go - request to change them and it will vanish. As for the blood this does need to be checked out it could be meds or something else. Good luck

Hi catlady246, I had blood in urine last year only spotted due to my routine annual diabetes check, at the time my doc said it was high and said it was either to do with kidney stones or urine infection, didn't have any symptoms, anyway turned out to be a urine infection and prescribed antibiotics for 3 days, which helped and cleared up after finishing the course, glad your feeling a bit better.

Thank you I was having a bad day over thinking everything. I never used to worry about anything but after HA made me worry about things that i wiuld never have. . Feeling loads better now and just about all cleared up now tested again tonight and it's slight trace. Which from far end of reading to today massive change in 2 and half days of antibiotics. X

Your cholesterol is quite high as I know it can with thyroid problems but your GP needs to be treating that more aggressively. There are alternatives to statins.

My cholesterol is 3.2 now so Dr is very happy 😊 yes thyroid inflates numbers without real symptoms x

hi, I had a nstemi in dec 2020. Ik took me 2 years to get a clear answer why it happened and like you I found out I have Hasshimoto disease and due to that affecting my cholesterol it was the main cause of the heart attack. It’s a nasty disease and affects a lot in your body especially if your TSH is out.
