Dizzy spells
Hello
Bisoprolol can cause dizzy spells I get them so it could be the culprit but worth speaking to your Doctor about to make sure
Glad the rest of your recovery is going well x
Hi, I’m another one taking bisoprolol post Nstemi heart attack and found that 3.5mg was spacing me out , some dizziness and really zombied for an hour or two. Had it reduced to 2.5mg and it’s much better . Spoke to my consultant and GP , no problem getting it reduced and monitored blood pressure at home for a week to check all ok.
yes ! I had ohs 18 months ago and still get the odd dizzy . Came off bisoporol about 6 months ago - much better since then .
As others have responded, this could well be down to the Bisoprolol. If your blood pressure is low, or lower than normal this might also suggest confirmation. But worth checking with your Doctor. Also you should normally be getting an echocardiogram c3 months after the AVR (once the new valve has settled in) to check that all is well with the replacement, so if not I would also chase that up with your cardiologist for reassurance.
Do toy have a home BP monitor, or do the have a machine at the docs you can use, in the public areas. Bisoprolol will certainly do that. What dosage are you on?
Hiya, I take Bisoprolol ( amongst other drugs) having experienced 2 (count'em!)cardiac arrests. This is a really useful forum for some things, but I think your question should be directed at GP/Cardiology, as there could be a complex reasons for your symptoms ( other drugs taken with Bisoprolol, medical history etc, etc)That's my best advice.
Hope you get things sorted.
Hi, From the absence of Warfarin in your meds, I presume you had a Tissue valve fitted.
In my experience, I was on Aspirin long term, with Bisoprolol for a short while after my first AVR. Many years and further ops later I'm on it full-time these days for Heart Failure, it took a while before they settled on the right dose for me, as I was fatigued and had the odd dizzy turn.
I would discuss with your Cardiologist what the long term plans are med wise, as you may well find that the Bisoprolol is short term.
