I am 6 years post op plus having 2 stents in 2021.

I have an awful sleep pattern (well no sleep) and mainly waking up shattered.

I am sure it is down to the medication.

thanks for the reply I seem to be in the poor sleep club as well but I don’t know what to do the docs are no help at the moment

I agree Heather - I'm a year post HA & triple bypass and definitely think it's the meds that have me dosing off in the evening. I don't mind though as, although I do still get tired in the afternoons, the real sleepiness doesn't usually hit me until nearly bedtime and feel lucky to sleep well at night. Carol

Hello :-)

I am nearly 2 years from my triple heart Bypass

I get very tired in the day but I think it is the meds I take that contribute to feeling this way

I presume you have all the usual blood tests done for iron etc and they are all ok

I hope you get the answers you need to make this better for you :-) x

Hi, I’m 12 months double bypass post op. I’m pretty much tired all the time but just crack on with life as there’s not much else I can do about it, I put it down to the medication. The tiredness isn’t stopping me doing anything other than my batteries drain every two weeks and I have a real couch potato day zzzzzz.

I know it’s hard when feeling tired and down but do try and carry on with things as normally as possible, it’s a downward spiral otherwise. Good luck and take care.

It's been 14 months since my op, Avdi. Like yourself I try and muddle on through any tiredness and sometimes, after a nice walk outside, I'm pleasantly surprised by feeling more awake afterwards! (A couch potato day sounds like a great idea though - I'll have to try that one and join in with the zzzzzzzz's😀👍😂) Carol

You can’t beat a good couch potato day 😁. Feet up, mindless daytime TV on, a nice cup of decaf sugar free caramel latte coffee and doze off into dreamland 😴 awesome 😎

I know what you’re saying and agree it’s just that it takes me days to recover still enjoy a good walk though

Walking is my passion, 5 miles minimum a day with a few 10-15 milers thrown in too……..hence the depleted batteries and couch potato days 😴

I was the same 3 miles min upto 6-7 miles after the op every day with the dog then I got dodgy knees which I’m just getting over so hopefully I’ll soon be back to sort of normal

Fingers crossed 🤞 , take care.

Yes, same for me too. Three years post CABG and 1 month post angioplasty/stent. My sleeping patterns are a mess, my upper body hurts constantly and fatigue is an issue. Have kind of accepted this is my reality now, be it due to the surgery and/or the meds, but their are days I get very depressed and down about it.

Horay, thank goodness I’m not the only one 🤔

I am 7 yes post Quadruple and have been suffering from acute fatigue for the last year. My bloods showed very low levels of B12, Folic Acid and Vitamin D. Once I took the prescribed meds I felt like me again. Now it’s happening all over. I can’t function and I dose off at work.

Now waiting for blood counts to come back. I asked if Bisoprolol can cause this as I read it on here.

Sleep has been disturbed for 3yrs now but I put this down to a traumatic event that happened 4 years ago.

Is anyone else having horrific nightmares?

hi I seem to be on a 6month cycle I get exhausted then slowly recover I was treated for anemia but it was borderline I take b12 and iron supplement but I get vivid dreams and wake up tired come to the conclusion it’s the meds bisoprolol I’m on the lowest dose so it can’t be changed like you it’s been going on for 3 years and the doctors seem to have given up and put it down to poor sleep I’m trying to figure out what to do now

No one in the 3 years has suggested changing my medication I can see them glaze over as they don’t know what to say anymore

Good luck anyway

I totally understand you. When I mentioned could it be the Bisoprolol, my GP just sat there looking at the screen and looking at me as if I was mad 😂

Try, a small glass of Orange Juice a day to see if that makes you feel different. xx
