Just saying thanks for the replies it’s made me feel better I thought I was going crazy over these last 3 years all it would have taken was for the doc to say it’s the meds and the problem would have gone away (well you know what I mean)

So I can now get on with my tired life😴

I think for me I have just got used to feeling this way even though I do not like it but you are not on your own x

the hard part is getting used to it isn’t it I’ve spent so much time fighting it instead of accepting it and learning to live with it it really got me down at times

I agree it is very hard getting used to it and maybe trying to fight it makes us feel even more tired so trying to accept it could make it feel better x

Hi, sorry I missed the first post, but yes, five years on and I still have the occasional good night sleep, followed by three lousy ones. Used to go for an hour's kip in an afternoon, but that made me sleep worse at night... I find if I get really tired in an afternoon, going for a walk, no matter how long or short it is, sees me through the tiredness, and I sleep better at night.

Something else I have noticed and been told by another bypass patient, he always gets a runny nose when eating since his bypass, that also is the bisoprolol, have to say I hadn't noticed it, but then my partner told me I did seem to get a runny nose during a meal since bypass, and now I've been alerted to it, yes I do...

so we just have to adjust don’t we and yes I get a runny nose and didn’t realise it was the bisoprolol thought it was other stuff 😀🤧

Yes, didn't realise I'd started doing it, but sat in a restaurant at a birthday party, eating my meal, and my great uncle whoever he was, said "When did you have your bypass" ? Then he said the Bisoprolol make his nose run when he's eating too ! That's how he new I'd had the bypass...

I remember the GP prescribing me my bisoprolol years ago and saying oh by the way they may make you feel a little tired!!!

Iv felt like a hibernating hedgehog most days since. 🤪

Wow, It's not just me!!!!! Think I'm in the same boat - overwhelming fatigue and tiredness much of the time. I recently started to suspect Bisoprolol even and I'm on a tiny 1.25mg dose. That said I take a couple of other drugs which may be the culprit so I withhold judgement. I may enquire about changing to another med with my GP. I also get intermittent dizzy spells but again I'm not certain whether this is from my health condition, Bisoprolol or meds?

I’m only on bisoprolol and statins same dose as you and I get dizzy spells down to blood pressure I’ve gathered which bisoprolol does keeps your blood pressure down amongst other things

When I had my HA 18 months ago I was prescribed Bisoprolol, together with Ramopril, Statins, and blood thinners. At first I was absolutely fine, but after a week I lapsed into being so tired I couldn't function. I spoke to my GP who said as I have asthma I shouldn't be prescribed Bisoprolol I haven't taken them since and my heart nurse agreed, and I've been fine (touch wood). Heart rate a tad high at 136/70 but I'm pretty sure I would never have got used to Bisoprolol.

I am on exactly the same drugs Dorsetjohn apart from statins which I chose to stop a few years back. What blood thinner do you take?

It's a relief to see so many of you also feeling so tired on bisoprolol and having a runny nose. I am on 1.25mg bisoprolol and now take it in the evening but I am still exhausted all day. I constantly buy these small packets of paper hankies to catch the drips! My haemoglobin is also low due to run in with leukaemia 20 yrs ago which mercifully has been kicked into touch. But it is a pest being tired and breathless so much of the time. I loved Jetcat's description of a hibernating hedgehog! Best wishes to all sleepy hedgehogs!

Isn't tiredness an issue with all Beta blockers?

I had the same, try taking biso at night. Helped me a lot xx
