Well my good friend tiredness has returned. It doesn't matter if I'm doing something or not; or if I've had 5 hours sleep or 9 hours sleep. I'm struggling to last the day without having to have a nap. Simple daily things are making me tired. Thought I'd got passed this stage but it's back. Feeling a little deflated. Sorry bit of a moan and I know with my condition I will have bouts of tiredness. I thought I was ok as been doing home exercises and walking more. I don't know lol x

I have dilated cardiomyopathy with a now improve EF 25% was 15. I've had this almost 3 years. Medication has changed alot as body doesn't tolerate it. I have a 12.5mg bisprolol, 40mg furosemide, 10mg dapaglaflozin, 24/26mg entresto and 5mg apixaban. I know tiredness can and will happen. Just hit me like a ton of bricks this ast week
12mg bisoprolol would knock me off the planet, I couldn’t tolerate 3.75mg (post Nstemi heart attack & quadruple bypass 8 months ago) reduced to 1.25mg plus a car cocktail of other meds for time being. My statin also caused lots ads of side effects including being zombied , fatigued.. I’ve tried artovastatin and Pravastatin and stopped both, got a review with gp today . Pharmacist told me to stop the Pravastatin, not had a funny turn in two weeks …falling asleep , fatigued from mid afternoon to early evening, cognitive impairment etc . Been feeling fine 👍🏻. Keep on to your GP👍🏻. I know it’s a bloody quest to get through , online forms , explaining everything, but I know then that it’s an audit trail. I am relentless in giving them all info to hold the receptionist blockers , the triage and “clinician” accountable! Sad really.
I'm constantly having my medication adjusted as my body doesn't tolerate it well. But at the moment my body is happy with the doses I have. I know my condition causes tiredness. It's just come out of nowhere I will be mentioning to my heart team as I've been managing quite well x
Mines the same. My ef has gone from 24% to 43% in a year. I wake up and feel like I've got a hangover, I'm OK for a few hours then after lunchtime I feel knackered and by 7/8 I'm in bed.
It can be quite demoralising when you don't feel great. But you must keep as positive as possible.
I think the meds have something to do with it. And hopefully our bodys using the energy adds to the tiredness.
Glad to hear your ef is also increasing. Keep up the good work.
Hey. Thank you I get a lunchtime slump where I just want to sleep. Yes took 3 years but EF improved so I'm thankful it's been a long journey. I'm glad yours has improved also. I do try stay positive but its hard at times. Im still staying active even if it is a struggle. X
The hardest part is working out if it is due to what is wrong, or the meds to sort it, each time meds are changed or added you get an interaction with everything else and of course the meds don't cure the problem just control it/ help to stop it deteriorating. The tiredness is a nightmare I am up for an hour then fall asleep again this can go on most of the day or until dinner time when I seem to do well. I worked night shift for 25 years so sleeping before about 2 am is unlikely but pain will waken me up 2/3 times per night. Keep a note of anything that affects it either making it worse or better, but you may find the best result is to build in short nap times to your routine that way you can make the most of the time when you feel alert
I do take short naps if I'm struggling. Or I rest. I am normally active. Tiredness can be so hard to deal with but we push through. I will try taking notes as it will be good to see if there's a pattern. Thank you x
Hi Cherrelleford, I can understand what you are going through. My EF is 25% and I can be sitting on my sofa watching television and all of a sudden get breathless and tired. When I get out of bed in the mornings I can become breathless and feel tired before I reach the end of the bed. Does it take time for a heart to waken up? 2 minutes after that I'm fine. I have naps during the day and also in the evening, just part of having heart failure. When you've been active it can be hard. Keep well.
Hey. Yea I sometimes wake up as if I've been out on the town and I don't drink lol. I will have the same as you, random moments of tiredness. Not had them for a few months so was a shock to the system lol. X
