I’m having dreadful head pain past 3 weeks bp has gone right up but neck has also seized up and getting wooshing matching heart beat in head. Have been seen in hospital and speaking with GP but how do i work out what is causing the continuous head pain so I can get the escalating anxiety down? BP tablets increased but bp still very high, parecetemol only for severe neck and head pain. Just getting more and more anxious because of this new whooshing pulsatile tinnitus very disturbing. I’m trying to rest and relax but not easy
thanks

Hello
I am sorry as I know this is like been on a merry go round which is it and the more you worry and get anxious will send our anxiety up which will send our BP up so how do we get of this merry go round it can be a tough one as both high BP and anxiety can make you feel this way
They know your BP needs getting under control and they will sort that so try and relax even though it is high telling yourself this is going to get sorted
Once it has if you are still getting these symptoms chances are that is anxiety alone causing it
Try some relaxation , some meditation , mindfulness it is not easy to follow when you feel anxious but it gets easier and will help you to relax x
Neck and head pain is horrible as I know! I have had horrendous tension headaches caused by muscle spasm in my neck, shoulder and back. It was so bad that the muscle spasm could be seen on an X ray as it was distorting my cervical vertebrae. I have had physio to deal with it and am now seeing an osteopath and an acupuncturist and this last bout has been relieved. It might be worth a try!!
I was already visiting the osteopath and then added some acupuncture in as well. It certainly appeared to help and I would go back again. It took about six months to really get on top of this last episode - my shoulder muscles were like concrete!!
Hi, my husband suffers from cluster headaches, they are quite rare and very painful. I'm not a medic but it might be worth asking your doctor if it could be these. They are treatable, just be aware that not all doctors have heard of them. Hope you feel better soon.

Its horrible I have been having terrible headaches worst was on boxing day lasted 3 days and at the same time really bad palpitations just wouldn't stop the whole time. Hi, I was on frovatriptan for migraine for years and it eventually made it worse, plus palpitations. I went cold turkey with just paracetamol or codeine instead.
Hi Holiday 12345I have bad arthritis in my shoulder and neck going into spasms and causing pain in head so I know how you feel. Do you have any sign of arthritis . It is also affecting my balance . I am due a MRI next Friday to look at brain and neck I also have had aortic stenosis in the severe stage thrown into the mix 6 months ago.
