Hi got diagnosed with high blood pressure 6 months ago, but now been having high heart rate and woke up last week with a dead left arm and sharp pain on my left side of chest as soon as I was woke up with the pain it went away but been still getting the sharp pain now and then that lasts a few seconds. I was on a beta blocker which I'm now off as was reducing my heart rate below 50 while sleeping. Plus gp has put me on doxazosin 4mg along with my other bp meds. And now my heart rate is really high resting I'm at 80s and just walking the dog I'm 120s
My question is should I be concerned and the pain in my chest should I go back to the gp?

It's normal for many people to have a pulse rate in the 40's while sleeping.
However the pain part is something you should definitely speak with your doctor about. Of course the dead arm thing is also concerning if you weren't sleeping on it and blocking blood flow.
I trust by now you are in the hospital or have seen your doctor. If not, I hope you do one of the 2.
I would get in touch with your GP today or go to A&E if your GP can't see you today. I was back and forth to A&E but each time I was given an ECG it was normal. Then in September my daughter dashed me to the hospital early morning and lucky this time the ECG showed I had Atrial fibrillation. And was quickly put on a heart monitor and treated.
Turns out I have Paroxysmal Atrial fibrillation. That's why they didn't catch it before as it comes and goes. I am under the care of the AF clinic on Apixaban and Dronedarone. Am no longer missing as many heart beats as I was and instead of palpitations just have heart flutters now and then. Heart doesn't race as often as it did.
I was prescribed Doxazosin in addition to the Losartan that I had been taking for several years. It put my BP up! It must work for some, but I know of others that have had similar issues with it to me.
As others have said, a pulse rate of below 50 when sleeping is not necessarily an issue. My pulse rate can be 50 just sat watching TV and I'm on the lowest dose of Bisoprolol. It rarely goes much over 110, even when exercising.
I do hope that you have been in contact with your GP, 111 or A and E as the pulse rate figures you give are high and the pain you are experiencing is obviously a concern.
Hi so went to A&E yesterday. Did a ecg and took two bloods to test. As my heart rate was high and bp they gave me Bisoprolol in the hospital which lowered my heart rate and slightly the bp. So they thoughts are my heart going so fast might be causing the pain. So back on Bisoprolol and got a referral to cardiology. Plus I said I've developed ringing in my ears the doctor said ramipril can cause this.
