Hello and welcome to the forum!
I recommend either StaySure or AllClear. Whilst not the cheapest they cover is more comprehensive than many. You can save substantially by omitting the US, the Caribbean and in some cases cruising from the policy.
Agree with Michael. But help me out here plz ? And ppl ? Has the art of grammar completely gone 😥I can guess plz but ppl no idea
What sort of holiday are you considering?
I'm going to Lanzarote for a week flying out ty
Most of the insurance companies use one of two main underwriters. These are the people who decide to pay a claim or not. You can pay £700 or £120 for the same decision maker. The Insurance company website should state who the underwriter is. I research that carefully. researching Times newspaper investigation alerted me to this. This way I try to get the best cover cheaply = more important with more and chronic conditions!
I have insurance as part of my bank account (Barclays) I informed them about the heart attack and they asked a lot of questions about the medication, severity and treatment. They were happy to give me full cover once I was off ticagrelor and had a clear first year checkup.
Did you have to pay additional fee? I did with my bank account insurance after having two stents. Still cheaper than anywhere else though.
No additional charge for me.
Can I ask if you are under 70? My additional premium was over £100 and I hadn’t had a heart attack just stents fitted because of blocked artery.
Staysure and Insureandgo have been great
try medicaltravelcompared.co.uk - it is a comparison site covering a variety of companies.
Another vote for All Clear. I always phone rather than do online though. Renewal for annual European cruise cover was nearly £500 with aortic stenosis. Now I have had an AVR it is £268 for same cover. Staysure wanted over £3000.
Hi I am in the same position at the moment as we are heading to Spain for New year.I have been looking for insurance over the last few days and the cheapest I have found were Saga and Just Travel, I have had quotes ranging from £80 to £200 for 6 nights!. I assume like all insurance it depends on the actual heart problems people have and the risk attached to them each company will have their own criteria and price accordingly.I have had a transplant and it's a bit cheaper than when I had heart failure and cardiomyopathy. I have a few health conditions and always find it's better to ring up and speak to them because there a difference between still under a hospital specialist and having a yearly check up. Also if you have not had problems with a certain condition for over 2 years and on no medication they don't usually need to know about that
Staysure are excellent.
Check to see if your bank account package has travel cover included. Mind does and when I had my HA they agreed to cover it for future insurance as it was an annual renewing insurance deal
Try Avanti I think they are the cheapest
