6 weeks ago had 3 stents fitted due to heart attack.
All seems well other than weird feelings after breakfast and even one evening. Sort of bubbly inside and the evening one I was shaky on my feet so immediately sat down and ate a sweet as I feared low blood sugar felt fine soon after. I take Metformin and now the dapagliflozin and spoke with my doc who told me to only take one Metformin at dinner. Felt ok then that evening.
I take dapagliflozin, Lansoprazole, Prasugrel, and aspirin in the morning. I've checked and you don't have to take with food, other than the aspirin.
I take them when I rise and feel fine until after my breakfast of porridge so could that be the culprit, I am surprised if it is.
Anyone have any clues.

Hi I eat porridge ( rolled oats) with a banana, berries and pumpkin seeds every morning.
I haven't had these symptoms ever.
Judging by two of your medicines are you diabetic? and is porridge a new form of breakfast for you? Also are you taking any blood pressure or beta blockers? ( as these make me feel dizzy, odd).
My wife is pre diabetic but when she eats the same breakfast as me ( oats) she says it makes her drained.
Even though rolled oats are great, I watched a video of a bloke who is diabetic and he monitors his sugar levels after eating them. He sees big spikes in certain things he is measuring ( I'm not clued up about diabetes sorry).
It's worth speaking to your doctor about these symptoms.
Thank you for your comments.Yes I'm type 2 diabetic and have been for near on 25 years. No, been eating porridge forever no problems before HA. Yes I'm taking Ramipril but around 10pm along with Atorvastatin.
I would have thought that porridge was highly unlikely to be the culprit especially as you’ve been eating it for years. I just wondered if you have been checked for AF? The symptoms you describe are similar to my AF symptoms . Good luck with your experimentation
Lansoprazole they say to take on an empty stomach about 30 mins or so before we eat
Aspirin a baby dose should not make you dizzy but yes it will help like you do to have something in your stomach before you take it
Your other meds I am not on but no doubt will be on something similar as standard heart meds
I get up take my Lansoprazole 30 minutes or so later just have a Weetabix and then take the rest of the Morning meds I have to take then as I have just a very small breakfast as when I say Weetabix it is just half of one as I struggle with breakfast so at lunch time when I eat a bit more I take my Aspirin which my Doctor is happy for me to do
Do you take your BP when you have these shaky episodes could be worth doing to make sure it has not dropped to low
Are you up to date with your blood tests ?
Are you taking your own sugar readings and if so they are fine
If you are and porridge is something new you have introduced then I may give it a miss for a few days and see if it makes a difference if not then I would ask for a meds review and talk with my Doctor about what is happening
Thank you for your reply. I did initially think it was low blood pressure but after talking with doc it was decided and I agreed that it could be low blood sugar especially as eating a sweet after the shaky episode I soon felt better. My personal view is it's the Dapagliflozin as I'm taking extra diabetic medicine and my body is used to Metformin which has served me well for nearly 25 years.
As an experiment I will drop the porridge and plan to eat Greek yogurt with blueberries and nuts for my breakfast tomorrow. I put cinnamon on my porridge which does lower blood sugar, I've proved it myself.
I haven't been told to have further blood tests so far.
No I don't take a sugar readings it was never needed before as it was always ok.
Porridge can cause a spike in blood sugar especially when taken first thing in the morning. There are different view on this but well worth checking out.
Thank you for your replies/suggestions. I did my experiment today. I didn't eat porridge, my breakfast I have been eating for years.
Instead I had fat free yogurt with berries and nuts.
I'm happy to report I felt good with no strange feelings.
Whether the oats along with the cinnamon after earlier taking the Dapagliflozin was dropping my blood sugar too low and causing my feelings.
I know cinnamon us very efficient in lowering blood sugar as going back before the HA my numbers were higher and after doing nothing other including half a teaspoon of cinnamon to the porridge it went down to acceptable levels.
