Four weeks ago I had open heart surgery to remove a tumour from my heart. I'm a nurse & my care home workplace have asked me to attend an absence meeting. Due to Coronavirus am I right being concerned about attending?

Worries about Coronavirus
Thank you for your reply, I am recovering well thank you. I must admit I was surprised by this request as they have a sick note which covers until 22/4. I will definitely ask if there are other options, I just wanted to check that my concerns are valid with other people in the same boat.
Hello and welcome to the forum! It is far to early in your recovery. Your body has been through a lot and you are still weeks/months from returning. Your sick certificate should make that clear to them. A conference call or Skype conversation should be adequate.
Hi Dearnechick
Ask if this can be done over the phone and not in person, whilst we are advised to practise social distancing.
Take care,
Ashleigh
I honestly cannot believe that they have even asked you to attend a meeting 4 weeks after major surgery 😳 I would ring them and say that due to your RECENT open heart surgery and the Coronavirus infection you have been advised to self isolate and therefore are unable to attend.
Don’t let this stress you out ❤️
Thank you for your reply, work have agreed to an alternative
I would definitely ask them to have a call. If they really want to have a face to face meeting they can always call you on your phone and put you on speaker!
Thank you for your reply, work have agreed to a call or email instead.
