I have been having an ache in my chest for a number of weeks. The other night I woke up with chest pain. Ended up in A & E and had all the usual tests - ecg., bloods, chest x-ray. Very conscientious doctor couldn't find a problem although he did say troponin was 'slightly elevated'. Repeated blood tests over a six hour period and eventually let me return home. He even went so far as to phone me with my last test result to 'reassure' me. I continue to have slight chest pain and have convinced myself I am about to have a heart attack. It is constantly on my mind and it is effecting my day to day lifestyle. Don't really know what to do. I dread another A & E visit. I waited 12 hours the last time.

I have also had chest pains and was perscribed a throat spray called "Glyceryl Trinitrate" 400 micrograms/dose aerosol sublingual spray which gives fast relief from chest pain in order to get this you will need to contact your GP as it is only available on prescription.
I have Angina as well as had heart attack, and i was told if i wake out a sleep with pain ive to take spray and dial 999 as no one should wake out a sleep with chest pain when heart is at rest, it means my Angina is unstable, my anxiety is through the roof the now so i cause my angina to be worse, the point im making is Ive been told to go to hospital even if it turns out to be my anxiety
