it’s 4am, been sitting her with my dad, hes88, ambulance left about half 1. Mum called them because he’s not feeling great and she was worried. He didn’t want to go to hospital. Obviously dehydrated, passed water at 7am and 5 pm yesterday and nil since, I’ve got 500mls in him since midnight. Gp saw him yesterday, on antibiotics. Anyway, he’s mumbling and fidgeting in his sleep but plucking at bedclothes. He’s not in good shape generally and is bedbound. I’ve googled the plucking. 99% say it’s a terminal decline thing the other 1% say renal cause due to urea level in blood. Both feasible. Has anyone else noticed the plucking at bedsheets when you’ve been looking after a poorly relative or friend. I can hear mum snoring upstairs which is good. Would love to drop off for a while but can’t take my eyes of dad though. 🦊x

Plucking at bedclothes
Hi Hidden
Really so sorry you’re going through this dreadful time.
I haven’t heard of ‘plucking’ before I’m afraid.
Take care of you too!
Please keep in touch when you can, will be thinking of you x
My dear dad died earlier this morning. My sister and I were with him at hospital. I’d been with him since previous post regarding bed linen plucking. It was peaceful and he looked so much like he was asleep lying there I’m finding it hard to imagine he’s gone. Will post soon. All too much today. With love 🦊x
no I’ve not seen nor heard of it I’m afraid & I’ve been with a few very sick people at the end of their lives. It’s good that you’re taking good take of your dad & letting her sleep. Don’t forget to look after yourself as well when you can. Big hugs x
