Grief and loss

Hey All,

I looked for a grief support group on here but couldn’t find one. I decided just to post on here.

I lost my favorite brother in late January due to liver cancer and multiple myeloma. It was devastating to me as we were so close growing up.

My big brother is now in hospice and is expected to die in the next 2 weeks. He has copd and heart failure. He took me on the only vacations I had growing up.

I’m not dealing with this well at all. I’m ignoring my feelings and pretending this isn’t happening. I’m stuffing it because I am scared and it feels like a bad dream.

Just yesterday I thought oh I should call my brother and let him know our oldest brother was dying. I miss his voice, I’m the youngest of the family.

any advice on how to come to terms with my feelings? I’m now fearing who’s next.

I’ve lost a lot of people but not so dam close together. It’s just not fair.

thanks for reading

💔😢

Hi light21Sorry to hear the loss of your brother. It's very early days.take each day as it comes.and now you have the worry of your other brother. Most importantly you must take care of yourself. Plenty of fluids and eat.hard I know as it sticks in your throat. Chat on here. I have found this site a godsend with lovely people.if you don't get replies straight away it's because we have time differences. Take care x

Thanks Skype,

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to me. I just posted a new update.

My big brother passed away on 4-16-25 at 11:34 p.m. it was quite the shock he died so quickly.

Right now I’m numb and feel like I’ve been hit by a freight train. My body aches everywhere.

😊

Hello Light21

Welcome to Bereavement Care & Share.

Our forum is for grief support, so you are in the right place, we have wonderful friendly members who always answer posts, so I hope you will feel comfortable here.

Really sad to read about your brother, that's devastating enough, enough for you to process, but now with another brother in a hospice, you must be feeling overwhelmingly sad, numb and even cross.

Please allow yourself the time to grieve, it's not a quick process, it does take a lot of time, especially in your position.

Above all don't ignore your feelings, bottling emotions like these, will only make it harder. You're trying to stay strong and you really don't have to, it's okay to grieve x

Take good care of yourself

Chloe

Chloe,

Thank you for your kind reply. Unfortunately my big brother died 04-16-25 at 11:34 p.m.

So no more hospice. My other brother passed away 01-29-25.

It truly isn’t fair that they died so close together. I do have faith so I’ll cling to that at this time.

Thanks for replying to me. I truly appreciate it.

😊🙏🙏
