There is way too much pressure surrounding the holiday season. We are encouraged to go into debt buying lots of presents, throwing big parties, getting together with our extended family, and indulging ourselves in joy and laughter. Well, that isn't the reality for everyone, and the idea of a jolly holiday is like rubbing salt in the wound when our loved one isn't there.

I have to say I agree with you 2stroke

It is a very painful time for all bereaved, rakes up too many memories and makes our lives more painful than need be.

Try and go with it and maybe plan to do something positive for yourself.

I agree with all that you say 2stroke.

I lost my loved one 3 years ago and the last 2 Christmasses have been really difficult. I treat it like any other day now and spend it quietly at home or with friends who understand. This year for the first time I am considering joining in a family chrismas.

It can be a difficult time for anyone who is bereaved. I find enjoyable things to do, that helps me get through 2stroke.

2stroke your so very right my friend it is a reminder of what we have lost and also about getting into debt for one day. It's not for everyone to do Christmas...some people love to celebrate Christmas also but that's also fine...life is just so cruel
