Hi issa

Sorry I can't help you with this one...perhaps if you give us some more info we can help you a bit more.

Hope you feel better soon anyway

Andrea

Hi, As Andrea says, I think someone here could give you a helpful answer if you give us more details. I'm not sure if you are asking two questions -

1. has anyone had a heart attack and

2 has anyone using lansoprazol, aspirin; clopdogrel and Simvastatin suffered increased mouth and genital ulcers

Or if you mean has anyone had a heart attack and THEN taken this medication and subsequently had ulcers.

I haven't heard of two of those meds but lansoprazol and aspirin are sometimes used to treat ulcers. Soluable aspirin can be used to gargle. I am not recommending this, it is not a medical opinion but personal experience. It may help to partly answer your question.

If you are concerned perhaps you could contact the person who prescribed them and discuss this.

Sorry, not very good in explaining things that's why I write less. But your first explanation of my question is right. I had a heart attack couple of weeks ago on Christmas eve. They did agioplasty ( put a stent in one of the artery which was blocked ).

Released me with these medication, I have them asPrin, lansaprozol and Clopidogrel in the morning and Simvastatin ( blood thinners ) at night.

I've got behcets aswell and I have diclofenic for my inflamations. I have paracetamol and tramadol for pain.

With all this story my question is does anybody has these medIcation suffer more with mouth and genital ulcers. I hope it's more understandable now. Thanks for the patience.

No need to apologise and you don't need to write less! We just want to give the best answers that we can and if that means asking more questions to get there then that is what we need to do! :)

I'm very sorry to hear about your heart attack - what an awful time for it to happen too! I hope you are recovering well now.

Personally I can only repeat what I said about aspirin and lansaprozol being prescribed to treat ulcers and not being the cause of them.

It's possible if you repost your query as a question rather than a blog, and perhaps re-name it, something like 'post heart attack medication' or 'heart attack medication query' or something like that, it will read by people who can answer more specifically, although no-one can give you medical advice.

There are many posts about ulcers so it may be that you are missing out on some potential answers because of the name and location of your thread. People may not want to repeat their responses to the other threads. You can find out more by typing ulcers into the top right search box. If you haven't done so already, there is a factsheet on the Society website you can download. That might help you with your ulcers.

Meanwhile, if you have any concerns about what is going on for you now, you could contact your doctor for advice. It may be that your medication could be changed or you could be given something else to try for your ulcers.

I been suffering with ulcers long before any medication made it into the equation. I've not had a heart attack but some of the medication you mention are ones I use daily. I'm aware that anyone who's health is under strain can be more susceptible to ulcers. Don't know if this help or n not but best of luck. Paula x
