Has any one been told they have early onset macular degeneration? Also weak retina?
I was given a Amsler grid last eye test/scan and told to go straight to A & E if lines go curved.
I have had a bad cellulitis infection in 2021 which I had a cyst also, antibiotics and drops eventually sorted this. My eyes are always watery and just feel sore behind but nothing to see by looking at them.
This was all before Behcets became suspected in me so I never really questioned any of this and just thought it was age, I’m 42.
The eye infirmary here was supposed to give me a follow up appointment to keep a Watch on it all but I have never had one.
Always had extreme mouth ulcers since a teen and no one could ever give me a reason so have just put up with it for years. Even got referred to hospitals dentist years ago and was a waste of time. One GP eventually gave me dexamethasome dissolvable tablets to use as a rinse when I get ulcers which I use when I get them and it does clear them up a few days quicker but I literally have ulcers most days I may have a few days a week with nothing.
It wasn’t until I went to the GP with genital ulcers and I had researched genital ulcer that are not caused by an STI that it all started to click into place.
I was lucky my GP had heard of Behcets and because of all my symptoms including IBS since my 20’s with several colonoscopies as they kept thinking I may have Crohn’s like my dad but never any evidence of this but I have had ulcers seen in my bowel but all biopsies been fine.
I am now 🤞🏻 waiting for an appointment at the London clinic.
I am trying to learn as much as I can from you guys to try and help myself. I really appreciate all the help/advice x
