Vaccine reaction w BD & Food Sensitivities

I might suggest to those with food sensitivites and BD, to not take any food risks when getting the vaccine. After getting my second Pfizer vaccine yesterday, I ate something I am sensitive to today (chocolate w peanut butter) - which I can typically tolerate with just a mild response when I'm feeling well and with the help of my Colchicine meds (2 X .6mg/day). This time - a day after the vaccination, my reaction is much stronger in my mouth as I have a sore, raised rash all over my lips and in my mouth. and I'm hoping it subsides by tomorrow or I'm going to be hurting.

Otherwise, my vaccination response has been very mild, just a sore arm and feeling a little tired and out of it mentally. Good luck, all!

(I'm 50, female w BD showing up as mostly inflammation arthritis and mouth sores that are relatively controlled by Colchicine.)

Sorry to hear about your reaction -it looks very sore and inflamed. Hope things have calmed down now and you’re feeling okay.

I appreciate you posting this as we’re similar in terms of age, meds and symptoms. I’m not due my 2nd for a while but will make sure to be extra careful afterwards.

When I saw your pic I thought oh no!! My son does this whenever he has oral sores (lesions) as if I don’t believe him when I hear him tell me, and hear how he can barely speak with a mouth full of them, or eat or drink and forget seeing a dentist. But then he will count how many - often up to at least 14 major lesions when they flare. But for the first time in YEARS he has not had them since taking Otezla. I’m amazed. But it’s true. When he has them it’s helpful for him to use magic mouthwash and will use lidocaine too. Folks don’t get how painful these are. They create issues that make living difficult. I see it and feel for you. Coconut yogurt (without milk - non dairy kind) has helped cool his mouth off. I don’t know if you can find any near you but try different brands because some are quite delicious snd others not so much. Again I’m here near NYC in the US, so I don’t know what you have around where you live.

I am grateful to the website though - nothing even like it in the US. No one here has a clue about this disease. All who contribute to writing here help me understand the disease better, and in turn, I can help my son. Even if it’s just having a wee bit more patience!!!

Thank you all for your contributions and for your insights. As I’ve said before, I send all who suffer with this many blessings and please stay strong.

A similar thing happened to me after my first Pfizer jab. Eating tomatoes gives me a spotty chest, but when I had a spagbol a few days after my Pfizer jab, my chest was so spotty and itchy it kept me awake at night! No other side effects, apart from the sore arm. I reported it on the yellow card scheme.

I had Pfizer 5 hrs ago, and my mouth/throat is feeling sore and I can smell beer and taste cheese and onion crisps...stomach is hurting a bit and inside of sinuses stinging. Had a dry non buttery croissant for brekkie, that's all. My jaw feels stiff.... I'm certainly going to be careful as I am very sensitive to foods and have ulcers on my gut.
