Eye Problem

Hi everybody I am a 44 year old male living in Pretoria,South Africa

Around 2016 I started experiencing pain in my right eye & took it lightly until the paint it worse to a point that it was disturbing my vision,after many blood tests I was diagnosed with Behcet Syndrome

I developed a cataract on both my eyes & had an operation on the 25 January 2019 to remove it on my left eye & it was unsuccessful however it is severe on my right eye so bad that I have lots sight in my right eye & I experience pain on my right eye that leads to terrible & severe headaches.

I am wondering if I will ever see again with my right eye,th.e doctors say they can't operate on it because of the inflammation I have on my right eye.

I feel your pain ma/Sir, you will be fine, I'm experiencing this behcet disease,so I know what you're going through,take a lot of honey,to help build your immune system,eat fruit like strawberry,add honey to it, drink Apple cider vinegar,mix 2 table spoon in warm water and drink it , like every morning, that's really help, I have not take colchicine for 4 months now, get well soon. Injections with ozurdex steroid capsules by your retina specialist will get rid of your aggressive inflammation. Best of luck

I’m so sorry to hear that. Be patient and ask your eye Dr if he can send you to a specialist or if he could add a Dr to help in your condition.

I’ve had the same problem since 2011 I kept getting chronic uveitis attacks in both eyes and to many in my right eye.

I ended up getting a cataract in my right eye due to high steroid use. Before the cataract which was in 2017 the muscles gave out on my pupil so it no longer refracts and the light hurts it. My Dr asked for help from two other doctors and one of them has been my primary eye dr since then, he is more knowledgeable and does not give up.

Before my cataract surgery I had inflammation for almost two years straight with no breaks but i was in constant care/watch and on several eye drops. As soon as there was a break from inflammation he removed the cataract.

I don’t have perfect vision but I can see well enough. I still get chronic inflammation but I’m on remicade, colchicine and cellcept which makes me able to take less steroids and have less flares.

I have had flares and inflammation in both eyes for over 18 months. I have very little vision and am now registered blind. I have developed cataracts in both eyes but they can t operate until flares are under control. My consultants are currently trying me on a course of chemotherapy alongside methotrexate, colchicine and a new drug from dermatologist called dobsone. Once flares are under control they are going to send me back to a specialist I was seeing to see if he can do anything to help restore some vision. Never give up, no one has actually told me I will never see again and they talk about trying different things when inflammation settles. I hold on to this and remain positive. It's the best I can do. Hope you find some relief soon. Take care.

Have really bad headaches for a while decided to go up to 15 on my prednisone they went straight away thank goodness!! Everyone else kept giving me panadeine forte not good. Does feel like inflammation to me. Please Help!!
