Does anyone have a favourite oil or ingredient to add into their sitz bath? I looked it up on Google and there was a long list from Epsom salts to witch hazel. Does anyone have their favourite, if not for the sitz bath, for an ordinary bath (pardon the denigration 🤣). Lesley

Sitz Bath ingredients
I would consider anything that is antibacterial like the following 7 essential oils which are all classed as having antibacterial propertiest:
Tea Tree Oil
Grapefruit Essential Oil
Oregano Essential Oil
Cinnamon Essential Oil
Citronella
Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Thyme Essential Oil.
Lavender is also nice. The following link might be helpful for essential oil and testing: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/8...
But I would read up about each one to see what suits, I have used as mentioned lots Tea Tree oil. BUT please Remember whatever essential oil or anything else for that matter is thoroughly agitated in the water beforehand its very important.
I also wondered if you had considered using the sitz bath for yoni vaginal steam baths they are supposed to be very beneficial though might not be if you have vaginal ulcers at the time.

I put lavender oil in bath. I always use hibi scrub and never soap. Xx
I know this may sound particular but I’m pretty paranoid about sanitizing the bath before I use it. Our bath is also used as a shower so before I take a bath in it I sanitize thoroughly. I’ve also used a scoop of baking soda in my bath as well. It will help draw out impurities. Once you take the bath as well it’s important to drink lots of water, I’ve noticed it tends to dehydrate me. I take a huge bottle of water in there with me and drink while I’m in there. It keeps me from getting weak. Hope you feel better.
Thanks everyone. Lavender is my favorite 'fragrance', but will check everything out carefully. I’ve been in hospital for five days with a flare. Home now but the ligament in my thumb has just become a problem. It never ends, 🤕 Lesley
