Has anyone tried hyperbaric chamber treatments for Behçet’s? Does insurance cover it? I have a friend with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis who goes scuba diving because it helps him remain mobile. A hyperbaric chamber would provide the same high-pressure environment, plus 100% oxygen, as a scuba diving environment. Can I get some advice on how to proceed?

Hyperbaric Chamber
I had the treatments for the Behcet related lesions on my legs that wouldn't heal. In my opinion: It didn't help at all and is very, very expensive. My insurance covered part of it but I still had to pay around $300 per treatment. The treatment center claimed around $20,000 per treatment but of course insurance didn't pay the full amount. You have to get permission for treatment with your doctor sending in a letter with your diagnosis. They won't okay it for Behcets but if you have or have ever had diabetes or other things related to that, they might okay it. It's also time consuming. You have to go 3-4 times a week for about 2-3 hours each session. Probably not worth the time and money, but I really can't speak to treatment for pain, etc. I'm very sorry I even tried it.
Hi OpsDave70, thanks for posting on here. I was about to do it myself to see if anyone had tried it. I will email you now with a couple of responses I have received.
Best wishes.
