My doctor has me on Colchicine and Otezla. My symptoms have eased, but I still get the ulcers. I just assume the medicine is helping somewhat. When I got my first ulcer on my tongue, the pain was so bad. Now, it still hurts, but not nearly as bad as it did. I also have the joint pain, and recently started with what I thought were styes, only to find out that is another symptom.

This was never told to me by a doctor, but it also won’t be bad for you… I had an ulcer, about as big around as a pea, on the inside of my lip that would not go away. I had some Manuka Honey in my cupboard and figured that it’s a medicinal honey and honey has all sorts of medicinal properties so I’ll give it a try.
I got a little on my finger and put it on the ulcer. Boy did it burn. Like rubbing alcohol on an open cut. I kept reapplying it throughout the day and by the end of the day it wasn’t burning as much. By the next day, it didn’t burn at all and the ulcer went away. I was amazed. Now I swear by the stuff.
If you give it a try, hopefully it will work for you too. I have only ever tried it orally. (I have never tried it on “downstairs” ulcers but I’ve never felt the need to. I would be worried about how much it would burn.) I think my honey has a 25 or 35 on the container. The bigger the number the stronger it is. Also, the more expensive it is. Good luck.
My father suffered hugely from leg ulcers all of his adult like. During a period in the 2000's his local hospital would use manuka honey dressing on his legs. I totally agree with your views on manuka honey. Looking at the description now for these type of manuka honey dressing it states: Suitable for all wound types where a primary layer is indicated and an antibacterial effect may be advantageous including: Cuts, abrasions, burns, surgical wounds, leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers and infected wounds.
Personally I would have no issue using manuka honey on genital ulcers. Used all sorts over the tens of years before I was given a formal diagnosis. I use tea tree oil extensively which has been great and especially when you have nothing else around. One of the first things I dab onto a newly starting to form ulcers, especially before bed.
IIf you need more then perhaps a mouthwash, I have 2 types of soluble tablet forms for me to dissolve in a small amount of water, Prednisone soluble and Betamethasone soluble. I am told not to swallow just rinse around for a few minutes.
