IMURAN AND ELEVATED LIVER FUNCTION TESTS

I have been taking Imuran 25mg for 3 weeks. LFT's tested at 2 weeks and OK! I now have mild stomach pain/discomfort and LFT's are slightly elevated. Is this a common side effect and should I continue taking the medication?

I have the same thing. I think as long as you are watched by your doc your should be okay. And you don't feel or experience anyother worsening side effects.

That is a question for your doctor. I would ask right away.

I am on it also now for almost 5weeks and I go in again to have my blood checked on Monday.

I've been taking Imuran for a few years now, and had this problem in the first few weeks. However the blood results settled down as soon as the dose was reduced a bit. I've had to reduce it again since because of other side effects - hopefully you'll be able to find the right amount that your body can tolerate but there may be a bit of trial and error. Keep in touch with your doctor and give plenty of feedback so that they can find the right dose for you X
