since having my IUD fitted nearly 3 years ago after my 3rd child I have suffered with thrush and BV re-occurring.
it’s starting to get me down as there always seems to be something wrong and all the Drs do is fob me off a course of antibiotics here one pessary there and it never clears up! This has been going on at least two years now should I just have it taken out!? Has anyone else had these problems.
It is effecting my sex life with my husband .

An IUD does apparently increase the chances of vaginal infection, some people being particularly susceptible. Unfortunately for you, you appear to be in that category.
My wife suffered terribly from the IUD so I volunteered for a vasectomy. As soon as I had the all clear she had the IUD taken out and she has now been problem free for 6 years.
The IUD can be associated with an increased risk of BV in some women. Some types of BV respond better to certain antibiotics than others. If you have a persistent problem, rather than a recurrent problem, going to a sexual health clinic can allow for better identification of what the issue is.
If you have been taking antibiotics then the antibiotics is also destroying your good bacteria with the bad ones. You need to supplement with a good probiotics anytime you follow a course of antibiotics to replenish your good gut flora. A healthy microbiome is important. Having more of the good bacteria also helps to crowd out the bad ones. Eating a fiber rich diet will provide good prebiotic for your probiotics. Avoid sugar.
