First period after mirena coil removal? 🙄

I had the mirena coil fitted 20th January this year. Recommended by gynae for heavy bleeding. No end of problems with it.

Seen on Wednesday to have it removed as I was getting so fed up with it. Nurse I saw was a little concerned about my symptoms (hence being invited in to be seen) and told me that it wasn't in properly so it had to come out there and then.

Started light spotting yesterday. Fresh bleeding today with clots and tissue today. God awful period pain tonight. No idea where I am in my cycle as i have been bleeding off and on since having it inserted and last week had another heavy bleed.

Does anyone know what I should expect to happen after removal? Is this normal? Every bit of info i read online is saying something different. Many thanks xxx

If you have an IUS removed, naturally the hormonal effect will wear off and you will experience unscheduled bleeding.

Hmm not sure why emergency scan , if you had heavy bleeding before the IUS was in, now its out and you are bleeding heavily , to be honest that would be expected. But perhaps you have other features they are concerned about .

Hello, when I had my coil removed I had similar. It was more of a withdrawal bleed but my first proper period I had after it being out was really painful and incredibly heavy! Lots of clots and tissue but was told it was quite common and expected x
