I’ve had the kyleena coil fitted since July last year, and for the last 3 months I’ve started getting periods... is this normal or should I get it checked? I thought you didn’t get periods on the coil!

Hi I had the mirena coil, I was told it would lighten or stop periods. It did stop my periods eventually. Best bet, double check with your GP if worried x

Having no periods is not 100% guaranteed. Over time some women will have unscheduled bleeding or even regular menses. If you have had a partner change ensure chlamydia has been tested , also consider having a coil check to ensure in place and not expelled, if you cannot self check the coil threads
