Copper coil!?!

So I had a copper coil fitted 5 days ago, and am really worried because the pain and bleeding they said may happen is WAY worse than what all advice websites are saying. I’ve had to take 3 days off work because of the pain, and now as the pain is dulling, I am bleeding so so heavily, completely filling up about 4-5 ultra pads a day, and I’m not even due my period for another 2 weeks. Is this normal? When is the bleeding likely to stop?

This volume of bleeding and discomfort sounds unusual for an IUD insertion. I would return to the inserter , get the position of the coil threads checked, make sure its not in the cervical canal, and they may consider performing an ultrasound if its not obvious where the IUD is.
