Changes in periods

I am 37 and take the Cerelle (the progesterone only pill). I have been taking it for approx 6 months. Since beginning it my periods seem to have been longer. Now, my period begins and lasts for about four days settled down and then after about another five days it begins again (the second time being quite dark blood, like coffee grounds!). This doesn’t happen every month and thought my periods were beginning settling down and be more regular. Should I be worried? I really hope for children in my future so perhaps overly worry about period changes! I had a check for PCO in the last year to be told my overies looked healthy!

Many thanks.

If you read the packet or nhs site irregular bleeding is a symptom of the progesterone only pill. Im have been taking cerrelle for 13 months. Im 47 My cycle for about a whole year prior to taking it had changed from 31 days to 26-28 probably due to my age! So after taking it had a normal to light period for 3 consecutive months then missed a month then bled for a whole month!!! Very light mind but annoying so I stopped taking it for 6 days as I felt like my body needed to bleed which it did then started again. Now I have had months with out bleeding and one month 2 months ago with a very light bleed for about 5 days. I used to have heavy periods before taking this pill.
