My doctor has recommended me to have this fitted since I have a hormonal imbalance due to the contraceptive pill I was taking. Symptoms include depression and anxiety amongst many others but, I am very nervous and anxious about having this coil fitted as I don't know what it will be like.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi, I’ve had this coil fitted for the last 4 years, due to having issues with being on the pill. Having it put in was a little uncomfortable, but only the the duration of the procedure. I had a little bit of period type pain for a couple of days. The coil itself has not cause me any issues and I haven’t had a proper period in all that time. I did have to go for a scan last year to check it’s placement as the strings are no longer where they should be. I am due to have it changed next year which will probably be a tricky removal (due to the strings not being there) however my local GUM clinic have advised me to go there as they specialise in difficult removals. Even theses slight complications wouldn’t put me off having another 😁
