Music feels good & I do think depends on what type on the Calming side of things, our feelings can heighten of course during, but can feel a calmness after, especially if you dance around whilst listening to Music. All In all its Good for the Soul!

Hi again,

Music therapy can help with challenging behaviours and trauma but, it won't work for everybody. For instance, I have an issue with my right ear which means certain notes make me feel physically ill so, I wouldn't try this for myself right now. If an individual has similar sensitivities in this area, it might not work for them either.

I am overly sensitive to sound but I actually find music helps me. It either calms me or releases endorphins and it's always been my go-to to help myself. I hope it works for you.

Music is incredibly powerful and can help you for sure. I’m a music head and make music too and I think even just sounds in general have a soothing or energising effect. A lot of the streaming platforms have curated playlists based on moods, suchbas amibient, chill, meditation, focus. And youtube has a bunch of playlists.

I like to lean on music when I have high workloads, but I try to avoid general mainstream music. Simple reason being they are shot and repetitive. Instrumental music or music that has no lyrics is far more effective, and film scores are great, if you listen to a film score album from start to finish you’ll notice how it plays out like a story in sound only

Also worth looking at beyond music and listen to soundscapes, nature sounds etc.

And if you fancy a creative touch, try apps like Garageband or Ableton Note to just play and go wild with stunning instruments and sounds. Its like a game but way more chilled out.

But equally it won’t be for everyone but using music to match or calm your mood and mind state is powerful

Music is great because it's both relaxing and stimulating at the same time. Great for triggering memories and stimulating emotions and also uses the reasoning part of the brain. Music can be so calming though. When people join in singing or playing instruments together they get a sense of being part of a community as well. Depends on the music you use, of course!
