I have a theory that those with Autism, ADHD or on the spectrum, we like a certain types of music (more the way they are composed vs their genre). So curious to see what everyone listens to.

Dance Trance old pop.
My 34yr old Son says, for him it's, more about the Sound, not necessarily the Lyrics, Bands like they are channelled into each other like a computer & a Music producer/Dj is the same. He does Physically play Guitar, Sings, writes, but also has QBase Software, he enjoys making Music & loves to create & find different Sounds. He also uploads to QBase, his Guitar Playing & Singing, still finding his way & not sure where he wants it all to end up, or when thinking of Working one day in the future, he may do Music Production or Dj Clubs etc.
As an ADHD person with OCD and possibly Autism, I have music going on in my brain all the time. It can get tiring. For me, to relax and concentrate I now like classical music for the melody and composition.
I veer between relatable lyrics by a group like The Eagles or Fleetwood Mac, but then my favourite group is Faith No More and they aren't known for their lyrics. I like a driving beat and strong bass lines, so things like disco and funk also strongly appeal to me, so groups like Chic, KC and the Sunshine band, The Brand New Heaviest ,Jamiroquai, etc. I realise now, my musical tastes are all over the place!
my teen is into K-pop
I like anything but I really won’t listen to Heavy metal or anything like that or anything to depressing and I don’t really like classical music either. When I listen to music for me it’s about picking all the musical instruments and then the vocals apart . I do like somethings with a catchy beat not necessarily the words or lyrics
I like mostly pop music. But when I really want to destress Weightless by Marconi Union is amazing!
