My son matters but he showing challenging behaviour - should have been told about incident but wasn't. It was dealt with properly and I dealing with now. I love but don't know how I can help - I brought extra activities - art and craft. Not taking massive interest, that is son isn't really having fun and that makes me sad. Recently he doesn't want to go out either. He is depressed? Or fed up? He is nonverbal autistic so can't talk

Hi Vonus559,

Is your son in a full time care environment or day care environment? If full time, does he not have a care plan and if so, why aren't staff following that to help fill his days and help him get the best from life? Does he like other things apart from trains? (you mentioned in previous post) if only trains then, videos, models etc can entertain. day trips where he is rewarded for his good behaviour like sitting down etc. Are his sensory needs being met? High or low sensory needs have to be looked at. Is there something where he is being cared for that is affecting him like another centre member being loud or physical which he doesn't like?

It can be hard to find root causes but, I am sure if you can all work together to see where this stems from then your son might be able to fill his days with things he enjoys so he doesn't behave in a way that bothers others as much. After all, lashing out or being low is his way of communicating at the moment. Was he in a supported school when he was growing up?
