Does anyone else struggle with demand avoidance?

I struggle to do a lot of things in life and I have recently realised that it may be due to two parts of my autism clashing with each other. I like things to be done a certain way and to the best of my ability, which means when I do things, I do them well. The problem is that I get so overwhelmed with the fact that everything needs to be perfect that I decide not to do anything, thinking that will solve the problem. So I may have these great plans of what I can do and how, but because I want them done so perfectly I become overwhelmed and end up not being able to do anything. Anyone else found this? If so, how do you cope?

Yes. All the time. When I was younger this would almost paralyze me but I have learned to just go ahead and do the thing anyway. I still do not do a lot of things but I do what is necessary and just sort of flinch at the small mistakes and move on.

Yeah that is what I have started having to do. Have downsized the load placed on me and just about manage to get through doing things that need doing but still struggle a lot. How do you manage to move on from your mistakes? Mine just will not leave me alone and I end up obsessing over them, even years on for some things.
