Digestive issues

Morning all I've been getting alot of abdominal pain now pain in stomach treated for a UTI but still there got appointment with gp tomorrow but was wondering if ataxa can cause anything like I would like to go to gp with some insight thankyou

I have constant acid reflux issues, now mostly controlled by medication, but I'm currently seeing a neuro-gastro consultant at UCLH that has done various tests over the last year to work out why it's an issue and if it's ataxia-related. I have ARCA8 (a spinocerebellar ataxia).

It may be unrelated to ataxia, but they've seen enough of a pattern to look into it all - my ataxia neurologist referred me to them.

I have heard of other people with similar issues.

Hello i have thé impression that MAYBE antaxia can be thé cause of many médical problems ! I ve not been well for à few years but drs cant find anything particulare wrong ! I also have digestif issues had lots of tests including à vidéo capsule So many unknowns 😪

I've got to do a bowl screening test but I mention ataxia of which I got a blank look that says it all I wish they learnt more about ataxia

🙂 I’m glad the GP is being proactive, despite the lack of interest in ataxia.

I’ve had a similar attitude myself when I mention it, you’d think at least they’d pass comment.

But..a GP mainly focus’s on the immediate problem, in your case abdominal/stomach pain, and how best to find out what’s causing it. The basic’s are ruled out first.
