Over the past few years, my Cerebellar Ataxia has been getting worse, in the way I walk and the strength in my core and legs (thats gone away on sabbatical)m My writing and speech is kna*****d, and the usual older age thing of "what did I come into the kitchen for". I have not been blessed with a good memory, even as a kid at school, I like to think I have a decent sense of education... BUT the one thing I struggle with, is remembering what med I am on, when asked. I know the name of the muscle relaxant I am on, namely "Dantrolene", but thats it, I don't know the name of my water tablet, Renauds Disease tablet, what statin for my cholesterol or my BP tablet.... Its ok when I get to see my GP, as its all on the screen in front of him, but if asked by anyone else, unless they go through a few names, I am stumped
this NOT a real serious issue tho, as I plan to get some cards printed with the info on

Peter, you could always carry your prescription around with you, I get my monthly medication in a Dosset box, I always take one of the medication lists out of a box and carry it in my manbag!
I can tell you the names of past girlfriends, from 55 years ago, but not what I had for dinner two weeks ago....... memory plays naughty tricks on your brain! 🤨
Oh my friend, I put post it notes around my house, I was actually waiting for a reply to my last email. I agree with Don, my mum put all her pills in a box carried them around with her, I still don't take anything at all, my choice and my pain. Email me...…………………...
It could be one or a number if your medications that’s affecting your memory recall, speak to your gp about it as they can fill in memory forms with you, these then get sent off to a specialist who will then send his results back to the gp.
As for your medication. I have a copied list that I carry around with me on one side & in the other I have my name, dob, next of kin 1 & 2. My gp, surgery name & number along with any allergy’s, a brief description of past ops, plus my neuros name & hospital, this is simply if I’m ever involved in a serious accident or if I fall ill while I’m out alone.
yes I am the same but at 77 I cant complain. My body coped much better in my 50's but as I get slower things get more difficult. A neurologist explained to me that my MRI shows no further shrinkage it is just the body's ability to cope that gets worse. I have idiopathic CA.
